 NEW YEAR’S EVE:          New Year’s Eve Family Shows – 5 pm and 7 pm (All tickets $22)

The ComedySportz Theatre special family shows on New Year’s Eve are perfect for children, teens and families. There will be a full main stage show, party favors, New Year’s count down and a cider toast with the cast after each show. Parents can enjoy the show with their children and then get home and off the roads by midnight to watch the ball drop. Includes a full main stage show and a special early countdown. Reservations are recommended.

10pm - ComedySportz Show and After Party (All tickets $30) – Party favors, a midnight countdown, champagne toast and a dance party after midnight. Optional drink package of cocktails, wine, and beer for $50.00 per person (tax included) from 9:30 pm to 1:30 a.m. Full service bar open until 3am with NYE drink specials all night. We’re steps from the Belmont El stop.

NOTE – The ComedySportz main stage show is smart, clean improv comedy. All three shows will be appropriate for all ages. Families with grade school children tend to go to the 5pm show, families with teens the 7pm show and the 10pm show is more people on dates, super fans that come every year and locals from Lakeview.

Laugh with Little Red Riding Hood!

The ComedySportz Crew, Adventure Series for Kids Returns.

WHAT:                         Just in time for Fall, The ComedySportz Crew returns with a new adventure into Imagination Land to meet Little Red Riding Hood.

But things start to look Grimm when our crew discovers that the Big Bad Wolf isn't the only villain they have to deal with! In this adventure, we meet Expensivo, who wants to ruin Imagination Land and everyone's imaginations!

The crew will need some helpful audience members who can imagine a happy ending to this story! Perfect for children 7 and under, this show offers fun, laughs, and the chance to get on stage! 

The show is written by ComedySportz ensemble member Mel Evans.

Stand-Up Comedy Night Returns!

Watch the pros make you laugh then stick around for an open mic.

WHAT:                         The ComedySportz Theatre brings back 100-Proof Comedy and The Chaser Monday nights this fall. We’re booking top talent in 100-Proof Comedy and our lineups will include comics that have performed on HBO, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, and The TBS Just For Laughs Festival to name a few. In The Chaser we’re inviting local and aspiring comics to get up on stage in our free stand-up open mic show. The night is hosted by Chicago stand-up Jamie Campbell. There is no drink minimum at the theatre but there is a full service bar and servers bringing you your favorite beverages all night.

New Show Added:

reDUB: Improvisors VS Movies.  What happens when Chicago's best improvisors take on Hollywood's worst films? reDUB: Improvisors vs. Movies features five hilarious performers creating brand new dialogue and music for a movie they have never seen before. These dusty old characters and plot lines will be made fresh and funny, and nothing is planned in advance. Absolutely anything can happen as cinema history is altered forever!  Opens: 6/23/11. 8pm - Impress These Apes! Impress These Apes is an 8-week talent competition. Each week the contestants perform in a different talent challenge, and are judged and scored by three hyper-intelligent apes from the future. Octavarius: So Nefarious returns to The ComedySportz Theatre with their high octane, no holds barred, improv comedy invasion. ‘So Nefariuos’, Octavarius’s original show, combines classic improv games with the artful tradition of Chicago improvisation. It’s like Whose Line Is It Anyway, Jackson Pollock and ConAir had a baby and you can come see it perform. 9pm – The Duel Dual
The Dual Duel is a 2-person improv competition. Each week 5 teams get to showcase their stuff for 10 minute sets. The audience votes on the teams. The winner of each week gets placed further in the tournament, and the second place winner goes to a 'last chance' round. The grand prize winner will take home trophies and 2 hundred dollar bills! On this adventure, The ComedySportz Crew ventures to the land of Cinderella.  Based on Charles Perrault’s classic interpretation of this timeless tale, we meet Cinderella, her two mean stepsisters, a magical Godmother, and of course, the Prince.

Sure, everyone knows how the story is supposed to go, but what happens when two ComedySportz players get involved?  Will the Prince still find Cinderella in time, or will her two mean stepsisters win out?  It may be more than a magical Godmother can fix!  Unless she has help from some willing audience members, that is…  

As always with "The ComedySportz Crew Adventures," the show has plenty of  laughs as well as opportunities for children to "get into the act." And along the way, children learn just how much fun their own imaginations can be!
