How long have you been doing improv comedy?
I've been performing improv in Chicago for the past five years, but I've been improvising since high school.
What brought you to ComedySportz?
I love the energy, the fast pace, and the quick-thinking. It really
does feel like sometimes magic happens right in front of you.
What is your favorite thing about doing shows at ComedySportz?
The people are the funniest, most fun, kindest, and most supportive
people I have ever met. It is a joy to do a show with any and all of
them.
Are you involved in any other shows? If so, what kind?
I directed and perform with this year's run of Smashed! The Improvised
Bachelorette Party, play Red in the ComedySportz Crew Adventures, and
wrote and directed Oops!...I Christmassed Again, all at ComedySportz. I
also perform with The Davenports, the improvised soap opera and
Improvised Jane Austen to round out my genre improvisation. I play with
the Big Yellow Bus and Basic Eight at the Playground, and am a part of a
sketch-writing group currently putting up a show. I am also one half
of The Nick and Jessica Variety Hour.
Have you done improv comedy anywhere outside of Chicago?
I performed with The Mixed Signals throughout New Jersey.
What is something about you that has nothing to do with performing?
I bake. A lot. I've started making doughnuts lately, and they seem to be going over well. I mostly care about cupcakes though.
If you had to pick someone to model yourself, who would it be?
I think everyone has something to teach you, and so I try to learn
something from everyone I see perform. If I had to name comic
influences though, I would say Mindy Kaling, Jane Austen, Daniel
Handler, and Ginny, the older sister in "Sixteen Candles." | |
