Right now, it's about 30 minutes till showtime, and the alumni have started appearing in the green room. Since I'm fairly new to ComedySportz, I don't know most of them. When the first person, Nina Leone (class of 1989), walks in, all the veteran players jump up and scream in joy! Hugs are exchanged, and everyone is wearing a grin that won't go away for weeks.  I introduce myself and instantly feel like i know Nina. After all, we are part of the same ComedySportz family.

The next person I meet is Lynda Shadrake (class of 1990). Again, huge ROAR from the players and more hugs. This is turning into a family reunion. People are getting ready to do the show and touring the new space. More smiles. More fun. Then Don Bardwell (class of 2000) walks in. I know Don from the year I did CSz softball and a few shows at the old 2851 Halsted space. Quick shout out to MC Willie, Tales of the Stinky Cheeseman, and the rest of those fun times.

Last night, I was fortunate to play with an alumni musician, Jeff "Sharko" Shivar (class of 1993). I was a little sick, but was extremely happy to do music games to showcase his talent. Hopefully, Sharko will be making random guest appearances. Nice guy.

The only thing missing is a bbq grill and a game of volleyball.  This is a great start to Alumni Weekend.
