Today I finished building a new source reporting spreadsheet.  (Sexy!)  Now, I've never taken a course in Excel.  In fact, the last computer course I ever took was on FORTRAN/COBOL in high school.  (Old!)

So, when I wanted to know how much data in a column corresponded to a value, I created an adjacent field with an IF statement that returned a "1" if the value was present.  Then, I summed the column at the bottom of the sheet.

That's when Greg told me about this magical function that does it all for you.  Okay, so I'm not exactly programming in VBA, but if you don't know how to do something, it doesn't matter how easy it is, you still don't know it.  If you've never left Chicago, Schaumburg is as undiscovered as Singapore.  (Shameless plug:  ComedySportz has played to audiences in both Schaumburg and Singapore!
