How did you get started with improv?
In college. Due to a clerical error in high school I had to take a performing fine arts class during my first semester of college to qualify for a scholarship. The class I took was a sketch and improv class.

What brought you to ComedySportz?
3 weeks after moving here a buddy walked past the old theater (the Turnaround) and saw an audition notice. We figured why not.

What sets ComedySportz aside from the other improv you have done?
When a show is really going well all of the pieces come together to make a strong total show. It may look like a competition and there are starts and stops between the improv but in the best shows those moments are just as vital as the games.

What kind of shows are you doing now, and how has ComedySportz prepared you for performing elsewhere?
One strong aspect of every CSz show is the audience interaction. I do mostly longform shows over at iO but even in those shows an awareness of the audience can help guide the show.

What is something you miss about performing ComedySportz?
The family vibe. We all perform and run lights and take out the trash.

What do you like to do when not performing?
I teach improv both here in town and on the road. I also write and produce sketch comedy with Maximum Party Zone.
